Overall these images are pretty good. Here is my critique (all constructive - not negative!):

I think the lighting is ok, it's bright and neutral in color which is fine. Neither one has any real blacks in them, this is more evident in the first shot as you can see the water looks a bit gray and shows some noise. Clipping some of the dark tones would boost the contrast, hide some of that noise, and give the water a less muddy gray look (which may or may not help the image overall, you would have to try it to find out). Compositionally I'm not too fond of the first one, it just feels a little off. I think it is a combination of things such as how the flower is pointing away from the camera and the heavyness one the right side (flower, leaves) doesn't balance out with the emptyness of the left side (water, thin vines). I like the composition of the second image better, the flower isn't pointing right at the camera but it still feels more open and inviting, and the leaves throughout the image balance everything better.
